Dear Parents,

Vidyalaya is the extended arm of the family which works tirelessly in the interest of children. With great pride I share with you the efforts being made at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Salt Lake for nurturing and grooming our children.

Under the unparalleled guidance of most revered Commissioner KVS, worthy Deputy Commissioner KVS RO Kolkata and a dedicated team of this Vidyalaya, constant efforts are made to create a culture of conducive learning in the Vidyalaya. It is our genuine endeavour to use the principles of Early Years Foundation Stage to give our children strong roots so that they develop equally strong wings to reach their complete potential.

Early childhood experiences have a long lasting impact on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of a child. Hence they are nurtured tenderly to help them make the right choice in life. Vidyalaya works incessantly towards building self-confidence and self-awareness among students; it provides an amicable learning environment where students acquire knowledge and skills. Vidyalaya fosters mutual respect, uniformity and harmony, thus helping students develops their all-round personality.

We believe in an inclusive environment where we respect the pace of learning of each child. The Vidyalaya implements different teaching and learning strategies to cater to the learning needs of a diverse classroom. Curricular and Co-curricular activities are conducted in the Vidyalaya to make the students confident, independent and versatile by bringing out their innate qualities to discover, participate and perform in various life situations.

Kendriya Vidyalaya embraces diversity and strives to provide an academically challenging environment in order to foster intellectual curiosity and a sense of responsibility in our students. Change is the only constant in life and we, at KVS, are always ready to embrace all changes that are productive and constructive, changes that equip students to participate in the modern competitive world. NEP 2020 has been incorporated in the Vidyalaya and it is hoped that the mind set of learners will also change progressively.
